C-Space "Shan"anigans: April

Spring has officially arrived in Newquay. The sun is out, the flowers are blooming, the seagulls are mating and there’s a new face on the Killacourt. The soon to be iconic surfer sculpture was finally unveiled recently and we’re enjoying having a cool new feature in our window vista.

Stevie and Shan’s Wear a Wig Summer has officially begun, and we are thoroughly enjoying causing confusion, chaos and astonishment with our daily parade of colourful and surprising looks.

Coworking #2 has taken shape nicely with just two more desks available for any folks looking for a peaceful, sunny office space with an admittedly distracting sea view.

Our outdoor space is almost ready for summer shindigs and shenanigans and we are stoked to be working with some of our members to create our very own community garden outside, where we will be growing some edible delights. For our next members social (held every First Thursday) we will host a community gardening day, where Stevie and I look forward to ruining our pretty clothes and demonstrating our distinct lack of gardening skills.

April has blessed us with some much-needed sunshine and some interesting visitors. Titan the Robot popped by and charmed us on his way to perform for the holiday crowds in town. Katie Austin hosted pop-up yoga in Hotdesking 1 and well-known Cornish surfer Laura Crane came by to attend the premier of inspirational surf film Undercurrents created by Maddie Meddings, featuring Laura and Imari Hearn.

Orca Ocean Rescue Training took place over the course of a week, with further trainings coming up during the summer, then we had The Art of Listening Workshop on 22 April and finally, the latest Kernow Conservation Networking event with a talk from local hypnotherapist Adam Pearson (the Calm Advantage).

We’ve now got Summer Socials on our minds and have put together some BBQ packages perfect for large teams and groups of 50+ - available to book for Friday evenings in May and June.

There are still a few dates available in July & August for your birthday parties, gatherings, corporate events and celebrations, where we can tailor a package to suit you – so get in soon to secure your date!

The food and beverage options at CSpace are also starting to hot up with the weather. Little Lobster Box is currently open Thurs- Sunday serving mouth-watering seafood delights and Bonnie on the Bay are now open weekends serving coffees and milkshakes.

We’ve had an influx of new hotdeskers this month – many of which are new to Newquay or making the transition to living here full time. With this in mind, our Freebie Friday this

month will be aimed specifically at supporting Newquay Newbies with a free day of hotdesking to help them find their feet.
