C-Space "Shan"anigans: March

March has finally marched on and as the temperature rises and the light returns, we at CSpace have set our sights firmly on the joys of Spring.

Forever inappropriately dressed for DIY, Stevie and I have put our clothes through the most with jetwashing, weeding, window cleaning, rubble-hoisting and painting as we work to get the building spring spruced.

Mount Rubble in our backyard will soon be a memory, and our members and guests will be able to enjoy their coffee breaks in the sunshine, lounging in our new outdoor seating area.

Even our backyard fence has had a makeover, courtesy of the Newquay BID! The alleyway behind us is now part of the Newquay Door Art Tour with a colourful and cute piece by graffiti artist Owlbert Einstein.

With demand for dedicated desks at an all-time high, we’re excited to be putting the final touches on our newest coworking space. We’ve already filled two of the four desks in this more intimate area, but with the best sea view in the building, we know those last spots are going to fill up fast – so get in quick if you’re thinking about it!

Meanwhile bookings have been rolling in for events, parties, workshops, meetings and more with July and August very nearly full. We still have some gaps for May and June and have a special offer ready for anyone keen to book something for a big-ish bash!

March saw us celebrating International Women’s Day by inviting women to come and work with us for free every Friday. We made so many new friends that we’ve decided to continue with Free Fridays in April, opening this up to all Small Business Owners.

Our chef in-residence, Cam also returned this month and kept our bellies and hearts full with soup and cake while prepping to open his Little Lobster Box food truck. You will soon find him serving delicious seafood, burgers and more from outside CSpace Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun 12-8pm – weather dependant. We will also have two more trucks joining us from next week, so our hotdeskers and coworkers will have plenty of tasty treats on our doorstep.

Stevie and I ventured to the other side of the bay to attend the Boardmasters and local businesses meeting, where we got plenty of inspiration for our plans to make CSpace a hub for parents looking for a peaceful sanctuary while their teens get their festival fix.

And a huge shout out to our wonderful member, Ella Croft, who has been nominated for Cornwall's 30 under 30. This came as no shock to us here at C-Space; we are always in awe of seeing the wonderful achievements she makes on a daily basis. We are so proud of her and everything she is building around her.

Winter in Newquay can feel pretty gloomy, but our St Piran’s Day Social reminded us how special it is to live here as we celebrated the history and culture of Cornwall with sea shantys and cider.

As Easter Weekend approaches, our little team is looking forward to a break from our hosting and DIY duties so we can spend some time with our families, which means hotdesking will be closed to the public on Friday and Monday.
