Coworking Etiquette 101: How to Share a Space Like a Pro

Co-working at C-Space isn’t like sitting in a library — it’s a place where conversations spark, collaborations are born, and friendships often start over coffee. The social side of things is just as important as the work side, and that’s what makes it special.
That said, a shared space works best when everyone brings good energy to the table. So here are a few tips to make sure you (and your four-legged friends!) feel right at home.

1. Conversations Welcome — Keep Them Flowing
C-Space thrives on chatter. Whether it’s sharing ideas, talking surf conditions, or swapping Netflix recommendations, conversations are part of the magic. Just keep an eye on the flow: if someone’s deep in their laptop zone, maybe save the story for the kitchen brew station.
2. Coffee & Community Go Hand in Hand
The kitchen isn’t just for caffeine top-ups — it’s where connections happen. Take a few minutes to chat while the kettle boils or invite someone new to join you for lunch. A simple “fancy a walk down to Towan later?” is often how the best collabs (and friendships) start.
3. Dogs Are Welcome (As Long as They’re Friendly Co-Workers Too)
We’re a dog-friendly space, and furry friends are part of the vibe. All we ask is that they’re well-behaved, comfortable around others, and happy to chill while you’re working. Bonus: they’re great icebreakers when you want to meet someone new.
4. Share the Local Love
Found an amazing new café? Tried a lunchtime yoga class? Spotted seals on your walk back from the harbour? Tell people! Co-working is as much about trading local tips as it is trading business ideas.
5. Bring Your Whole Self (Just Maybe Not Your Whole Office)
Come ready to work, but also ready to connect. One of the best things about C-Space is the mix of creatives, freelancers, and entrepreneurs under one roof. Share what you do, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to join in — you never know who you’ll meet.
Co-working etiquette at C-Space isn’t about rules — it’s about making the most of a space where community, creativity, and coast life come together. Bring your energy, bring your ideas, and if you’ve got one, bring your dog too.
